Woman accused of murdering Warren toddler held on million dollar bond

WARREN, Ohio - A 64-year-old woman accused of killing a 3-year-old boy from Warren is being held on $1 million dollar bond.
Lynette Talley appeared in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court Tuesday morning to answer charges leveled in a secret indictment accusing her of murdering of a three-year-old boy from Warren.
Talley was booked into the Trumbull County Jail Monday morning on charges of murder, felonious assault, one count of endangering children, and one count of child abuse.
According to police logs, Talley drove three-year-old Amari Allen to St. Joseph Hospital in Warren after an incident on May 5 at their Clearwater St. NW home.
The child was transferred to Akron Children's Hospital where he died three days later.
The guardian told police she was changing a younger child's diaper when she heard yelling in the kitchen, and when she went to find out what was going on, she thought the boy was choking.
She said when she was taking food out of the child's mouth, the boy fell, striking a counter, then the floor.
Doctors at the hospital say Allen suffered a traumatic brain injury and bleeding on the brain, not consistent with the trauma described by Talley.
The Trumbull County Coroner's office ruled that Allen died from blunt force trauma to the head and ruled the death a homicide.
Talley remains held in jail without bond.
