Protesters at Howland motel worried about illegal activity
Police were called out to the Capri Motel in Howland Friday afternoon after protesters were seen blocking its entrance.

HOWLAND, Ohio - Police were called out to the Capri Motel in Howland Friday afternoon after protesters were seen blocking its entrance.
According to a woman from a nearby business, the protesters said they are worried about the illegal activity going on inside the motel.
The eight protesters are also concerned the activity is happening too close to Howland High School and the children should be protected.
One instance in July involved man who was found dead inside the motel from a drug overdose.
The man was found in a state of decomposition with a white powdered substance in the room, which detectives believed was heroin or fentanyl.
Business owners and workers near the motel said they are tired of the activity that forces police to respond in and around the motel.
Some believe the motel should be shut down.
Assistant Chief Jeff Urso of Howland police said activity like this could turn into a conversation that some would like to see turn into action.
