CANFIELD, Ohio - The Ohio Attorney General's Office has filed a lawsuit accusing a dog-breeding facility in Canfield of illegally disposing of pollutants.
The lawsuit claims animal waste from Eaglecross Kennels was disposed into a marsh and a tributary across a neighboring property into Indian Run and Mill Creek.
Eaglecross Kennels is located at 9424 Columbiana-Canfield Road in Canfield.
The documents state the incidents happened on at least June 4, 2015, February 15, 2017, and December 7, 2017.
The lawsuit was filed against Eagles Nest Enterprises, LLC and Tomas Fidoe, owners of the facility. The documents also name Gregory Fidoe, who operates Eaglecross Kennels.
The defendants are accused of illegally discharging pollutants into waters of the state, creating a public nuisance, failing to apply or obtain a permit to install a holding tank, and failing to apply or obtain a permit to install a leaching tile field.
The Attorney General's Office says they are seeking an injunction to ensure future violations do not occur.
The office is also seeking $10,000 in fines for every day the law was violated.
