Bethel Church of Brethren in New Middletown had in installation and ordination service for a new pastor on Sunday.
The service was held for Reverend David Wyant at 11:00 a.m.
The Reverend David P. Wyant of Austintown was ordained and installed after a congregational vote, according to a press release.
The Reverend will be serving as the church's bi-vocational pastor.
Church representatives said that the Reverend Wyant has been Bethel's interim pastor since September 2017.
He will continue to lead the weekly 11 a.m. service at the church, which is located at 4023 Calla Road.
A church press release states that Reverend Wyant is a graduate of Springfield High School, and he earned a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from The Ohio State University.
The Reverend then went on to receive his Master of Divinity from Moody Theological Seminary in Chicago.
Reverend Wyant was ordained in 2011 by Canfield's Old Borth Church.
Church representatives stated that the Reverend has been serving as a volunteer since 2008 at Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley, where he will continue to hold a weekly 9 a.m. Sunday service for the homeless shelter clients who lack transportation to attend a church of their own.
