Springfield trustee cited after crash with YPD cruiser
State Troopers have cited a Springfield Township Trustee for an accident that sent a Youngstown Police officer to the hospital early Monday.

SPRINGFIELD TWP., Mahoning Co., Ohio - State Troopers have cited a Springfield Township Trustee for an accident that sent a Youngstown Police officer to the hospital early Monday.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, 62-year-old Robert Orr backed an SUV onto East Middletown Road, into the path of a Youngstown Police cruiser driven by officer Brian Booksing.
The cruiser ran into the SUV and came to rest against a utility pole at around 6:30 a.m., according to the patrol.
Officer Booksing was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital for evaluation, but his injuries are not life-threatening.
Orr, who is a Springfield Township Trustee wasn't injured, but troopers cited him for failure to yield.
The cruiser was towed to Youngstown Police Headquarters after the crash.
A dispatcher told 21 News that the YPD cruiser was on the road because he lives in the area.
