LIBERTY TWP, Ohio - A 20-year-old man is spending the holiday in jail after allegedly breaking into a mental health clinic in Liberty Township to escape an attempted assault.

A woman called 911 at around 1 a.m. Wednesday to report that her son ran to Valley Counseling on Belmont Avenue because someone had been trying to hurt him at a business about a quarter-of-a-mile away.

Police found a broken window at Valley Counseling along with Milton Buckner, who was bleeding.

After being taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital for treatment, Buckner was booked into the Trumbull County Jail on charges of breaking and entering, criminal damaging and vandalism

He'll be arraigned in Girard Municipal Court.

Police are still investigating.
