A search at a New Castle home uncovers crack cocaine, heroin and several handguns, some of which were found inside of a trap door underneath the floor.

New Castle City Police Department's Street Crimes Unit served a search warrant Monday at the home on Clearview Avenue after finding Jeremy Perine, who was originally wanted for robbery.

Found inside the home was more than $1,000 stuffed inside a duffel bag, a Ruger LCP .380 caliber handgun with a loaded magazine in the bottom of the stove which was discovered as stolen.

Police also uncovered more drugs inside of a "hideout" from underneath a second-floor bedroom closet underneath the carpet and carpet padding.

In total, police discovered  64.2 grams of crack cocaine, 3.4 grams of suspected fentanyl, 1.9 grams of heroin, 4.4 grams of crack as well as marijuana inside the home.

Most of the crack cocaine was found in an iPhone box, according to the department's Facebook page.

Several magazines full of "live" bullets were also found inside the "hideout," along with a loaded Smith and Wesson Walther P22 .40cal semi-automatic that also appeared to be stolen.

A total of seven guns including a loaded rifle were also discovered.

Digital scales were also found, some with suspected drug residue.

The search was conducted just before 8 pm with assistance from New Castle Narcotics and Lawrence County District Attorneys Special Investigative Unit.

Perine is charged with robbery and new charges including possession not to possess firearms, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He sits in the Lawrence County Jail.
