A Liberty Township woman is charged with endangering children after police say they found her two-year-old daughter was found crying wearing only a diaper in her yard.

According to police reports, neighbors on Lucretia Drive called Liberty Township Police on Tuesday evening, when they heard the toddler crying and noticed that her mother, 31-year-old Candis Wynn, had left her unattended. After talking to witnesses, police noticed that the front door had been left unlocked and that no one was home.

Wynn returned to the house in a Lyft vehicle at around 8:30 p.m. with a bag containing four 24 oz cans of malt liquor.

When questioned, she allegedly told police her boyfriend had been home with the child when she left. Officers contacted Wynn's boyfriend who claimed that he had been at work since 7:30 that morning.

The Lyft driver told police that he had initially picked Wynn up at approximately 7:45 p.m. and was unaware that she had left her child unattended at home.

The child's father was contacted and took custody of the child and Wynn was arrested and subsequently charged.

Wynn pleaded not guilty at her arraignment Wednesday morning.

Her next hearing is scheduled for August ninth.
