YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Not only is the auto industry in flux with trade tensions, the way people buy cars is changing altogether.

One nationally known e-commerce company is now doing business in North East Ohio.

Carvana hopes to do for car buying what Amazon has done for buying everything else.

Carvana.com has a national inventory of over 10,000 used cars.  People look at 360-degree pictures of the cars they are looking for inside and out.  Then they can buy them online, even get financing.

The car is then delivered right to their door, sometimes as soon as the next day.  Or they will pay $200 for your plane ticket to go to one of their car vending machine locations to pick up the car.

"We don't purchase cars that have been in an accident. We only provide vehicles to our customers that have clean auto checks. There's a 150 point inspection to make sure the vehicle is Carvana certified and meets our high standards. Every customer gets a seven-day return policy on their vehicle. We feel it's an upgrade to the traditional test drive which is four right-hand turns around a dealership block," Carvana spokesperson, Amy O'Hara.

Valley car dealers say they aren't too worried about the company. They say buyers will always need a place to buy locally.

"People still need a place to service the car, get all the information on it, and how to use all the options on the car and of course they can drive it, see it, smell it and make sure it's the vehicle for them," said Todd Dauterman of Donnell Ford in Boardman.

Carvana admits some people will still want to kick the tires in person before they buy, but they are counting on the younger buyers who are used to literally buying everything online.
