A rare crash in Shenango Township sent one woman to the hospital this afternoon.

First responders arrived on Bobbish Road where they found a truck crashed into a tree and the driver partially ejected.

Police are still investigating, but say early indications show a tree fell on the woman's vehicle which caused her to hit the second tree.

Police say the crash is something they've never seen before.

"The bottom of the tree was rotted out. After looking at it we did find a bees nest in the bottom of the tree also when the tree fell it took out some power lines with it. So we had a couple of different hazards to work with when we got here," said Shenango Township Fire Chief Justin Barnes.

The victim was taken by helicopter to Saint Elizabeth Health Center. Her name and condition have not been released.
