Woman allegedly dragged more than 70 feet by car in Brookfield, man charged
A woman was allegedly dragged more than 70 feet by a car in Brookfield after an altercation with a man.

BROOKFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio - A woman was allegedly dragged more than 70 feet by a car in Brookfield after an altercation with a man.
Brookfield police arrested Jason Burns, 43, of Cleveland Saturday after the alleged incident and charged him with OVI and felonious assault.
It all started at the Dollar General parking lot on Warren Sharon Road where an employee noticed Burns allegedly hit the woman and called the police, the report said.
According to the report, police arrived at the Dollar General but then received another call that a woman was being dragged down the road.
Police later found the woman lying on the side of the road.
Witnesses at the scene say the woman was allegedly dragged 75 feet down the road by the car Burns was driving, the report said.
The woman was then transported to Sharon Regional Hospital for minor injuries.
Police were able to locate Burns at the woman's house. The report says that when Burns came out of the car, police smelled alcohol.
According to the report, Burns told police the woman was allegedly trying to hit him in the car and grabbed the keys from the ignition. Burns says she allegedly jumped out of the car while it was moving and was dragged as he drove off.
After questioning Burns, police placed him under arrest.
Police later talked to the woman who gave a different story.
The woman said her and Burns went to have some drinks at Papa Louie's. They then went to Dollar General where the alleged fight started.
After leaving the store, the woman says Burns allegedly grabbed her by the throat while speeding down the road, the report said.
According to the report, the woman told police Burns then allegedly pushed her out of the car.
The woman says she held on to the rubber around the door while being dragged down the road, according to the report. She says the rubber broke and she fell on the road where the back wheel allegedly ran her over.
Burns is now being held in the Trumbull County Jail.
