'WaterFire Sharon' looking for volunteers for upcoming event
'WaterFire Sharon' is searching for more volunteers to help with the Saturday, August 18 event.
SHARON, Pa. - 'WaterFire Sharon' is searching for more volunteers to help with the Saturday, August 18 event.
According to a press release, there are many different opportunities available for volunteers, as well as a variety of times to accommodate availabilities.
The press release informs that in order to coordinate a 'WaterFire' event, it takes over 200 volunteers.
Information on what is needed to volunteer, such as wardrobe, can be found on the WaterFire Sharon website.
Karen Winner Sed, co-chair of WaterFire Sharon, said in a press release, "Whether you prefer to help stack wood, direct traffic to the appropriate areas for parking, attend to a parking lot, help in the luminary garden area, serve the volunteers lunch, register other volunteers, or help shoppes in the merchandise tent, we have a job that you can do. Come alone, bring your family, bring a few friends, bring your club or group- everyone is welcome."
The press release states that most volunteer jobs ask for a two-hour commitment, so there will still be time for volunteers to enjoy the festivities of the event.
Along with volunteers, WaterFire is also asking that those who attend bring their used candles to donate.
According to the press release, these used candles will be melted down and recycled into wicks. Any used candles can be dropped off at the registration tent on August 18th.
Volunteer information and signup opportunities are available by contacting the volunteer coordinator at jstanko@waterfiresharonpa.org or by calling 724-301-1868.
