Niles Police make arrests in connection with car thefts
Two teenagers and a 12-year-old boy were stopped by police in Niles after they were suspected of stealing from unlocked cars.

NILES, Ohio - Two teenagers and a 12-year-old boy were stopped by police in Niles after they were suspected of stealing from unlocked cars.
Niles Police were sent to Lafayette Avenue around 4:15 a.m after a caller reported the group was entering driveways and looking into vehicle windows.
Responding officers spotted the three males looking inside a vehicle on Cherry Avenue.
The suspects allegedly closed the door of the vehicle they were looking through and began walking down the street when they noticed the police.
Officers informed that they caught up to and detained the group, a 12-year-old, a 17-year-old, and a 19-year-old identified as Sage Trexler-Johnson.
Authorities said that Trexler-Johnson was in possession of a necklace, a bag of change and other items police suspected were taken from vehicles.
According to officers, the two juveniles were then arrested for curfew reasons and Trexler-Johnson was arrested for contributing to the delinquency of a minor and an outstanding warrant from Newton Falls Court.
Trexler-Johnson was booked in the Trumbull County Jail and the juveniles were released to their parents.
Niles Police have asked residents in the area to report any items missing from their vehicles and to remember to lock vehicle doors and store valuables inside a house or trunk.
