YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Youngstown Bishop George Murry is expected to return back to work next month if all continues to go well with his treatments.  

The Catholic Diocese of Youngstown released a statement in April saying Bishop Murry had been diagnosed with Acute Leukemia.

A priest from the Youngstown Diocese told 21 News if all continues to go well, Bishop Murry will be back working part-time at the beginning of September.

Bishop Murry continues to receive treatment for Leukemia as he starts his third round of chemotherapy this month.

We're told his spirits are high and he continues to be amazed at the number of prayers and concerns from people in the Mahoning Valley.
