Job losses jump to 468 at Northside Regional Medical Center
The operator of Northside Regional Medical Center is now saying more people than previously announced will lose their jobs when the hospital closes on September 20.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The operator of Northside Regional Medical Center is now saying more people than previously announced will lose their jobs when the hospital closes on September 20.
Steward Health Care has submitted a revised notice to Ohio Jobs and Family Services under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act that lists 468 positions that will be terminated.
The original WARN notice stated 388 jobs would be lost, 80 fewer than the new number.
During a news conference held by the Youngstown General Duty Nurses Association on Thursday, YGDNA President Lori Hornberger questioned Steward’s claim that 388 fellow workers would be losing their jobs, saying she believed it was more like 400 or 500.
Steward blames the decision to close on declining patient numbers.
Job fairs are planned to help find new jobs for those being put out of work.
Below is the Steward’s revised WARN notice and a list of the position being eliminated.
