NORTH LIMA, Ohio - You may have seen them for years on television advertising their business. Dale Sheely, Jr. and Sherry Sheely helped make the Sheely name become synonymous with furniture in the Valley.
But after decades of operating the 66-year-old furniture retailer, the two are bowing out as some new faces will take their places at the iconic family-owned furniture retail brand, Sheely’s Furniture and Appliance.
Founded by Dale Sheely, Sr. in 1952 with the sale of a single hot water heater, the business has grown to have more than 150 employees.
Current Sheely’s owners, along with the addition of new owners — Jessica Smith, granddaughter of Dale Sheely, Sr., and long-time employees, Jeff Curry (general manager) and Lance Romeo (buyer) — will take the reins.
Sheely's announced earlier this year the expansion of its retail operations, creating space for the new Warehouse Outlet.
