WEATHERSFIELD TWP., Ohio - The 4,500 drivers who travel along Salt Springs Road in Weathersfield will face some detours when a $1.5 million road construction project gets underway next spring.
Trumbull County Engineer Randy Smith announced on Wednesday plans to resurface three-and-a-half miles of Salt Springs from Route 46 to the Mahoning County line.
Although Smith says the county plans to maintain traffic, there will be some detours while crews replace ten culverts.
Traffic will be detoured along Route 46 and Ohltown McDonald Road when Salt Springs is closed between those two roads for up to two weeks.
Cars and trucks will be re-directed along Ohltown McDonald Road and Carver Niles Road when the portion of Salt Springs is closed for two weeks between those streets.
When Salt Springs is closed for about three weeks between Carver Niles Road and Watson Marshall Road, the official detour will be Four Mile Run Road, Ohltown Girard Road/County Line Road, and Carver Niles Road.
The engineer expects a five-day closure of Salt Springs between Oakview drive and Spruce Street. The designated detour is West Liberty Street and Four Mile Run Road.
The county says information about lane restrictions, road closures, and detours will be posted along the construction site.
