NILES, Ohio - Niles police are searching for a man who is wanted for a 'quick change' scam on a cashier at Marc's.
According to police an unidentified man came into the store on Friday and bought three items.
Police said that after paying for the items the man asked for smaller bills and put $500 in $100 bills on the grocery store scanner.
Officers said that the cashier started to count out the bills and handed them to the man.
The man is then seen on camera holding the money he placed on the scanner down, while he counted the money the cashier handed him.
Police reported that the man then told the cashier to forget the change and handed him back the money taking his original $500 with him.
However, according to police, after the cash drawer was counted store employees noticed that the drawer was $300 short.
Police said that when the man was counting the money the cashier handed him, he took $300, along with his original five $100 bills, and only gave the cashier back $200.
The store has the man on camera and police are currently investigating.
