VIENNA TWP., Ohio - A competition between airmen helped highlight some new equipment meant to help keep members of the Youngstown Air Reserve Station mission ready.
Sunday afternoon, airmen took part competing on a new Alpha Warrior Rig and battle stations obstacle course.
The Airforce Services Activity program began delivering things to Air Force installations across our country and Europe since 2017.
This competition was set up to showcase how the equipment can be used to help airmen stay it and increase resiliency.
Fernando Brown, Community Services Analyst for the Air Force, told 21 News, "One of the main concerns in the airforce is making sure our airmen are mission ready, which is at the drop of a hat, that they are ready to go and ready to contribute to the warfighting mission, or humanitarian mission, whatever the case may be."
A permanent Alpha Warrior battle rig was set up at the Youngstown Air Reserve Station in Vienna yesterday.
It's located at the outdoor physical training area near the track. Anyone who has access to the base can sign up to use the obstacle course.
