NEW CASTLE, Pa. - The New Castle Police Department has learned more information regarding the New Castle triple homicide that happened on Oct. 10 in a home at the corner of West North St. and Robinson.

Detectives learned that 41-year-old Jody Hammer, 19-year-old Anthony Cooper, and 19-year-old Steven Procopio traveled to the home of 31-year-old Lawerence Cannon and 31-year-old Nichole Pumphrey to rob the victims. During the attempted robbery there was an argument that started and Cooper shot Cannon and Pumphery. Cooper handed the weapon to Procopio after hearing people upstairs. Procopio then shot and killed 10-year-old Amariah Emery and attempted to shoot another child who ran back upstairs, but Procopio thought he killed that child also.

The NCPD arrested Hammer just before noon on Dec 21. Hammer was arrested on three charges of criminal homicide, conspiracy to commit robbery and hindering apprehension or prosecution. Hammer was originally charged with obstruction of justice in the case and was out on bond on that charge.

Hammer has been arraigned in front of Magistrate Scott McGrath and placed in the Lawrence County Jail.
