A northwestern Pennsylvania woman who pleaded guilty to a brutal 2012 murder of a Beaver Township woman, has lost an appeal.
Twenty-five-year-old Ashley Barber appealed to the state superior court which agreed with the lower court that there is no merit to her claim of incompetence when she pleaded guilty.
Barber was sentenced to life in prison without parole in the love triangle killing of Brandy Stevens near Cochranton.
Prosecutors say Barber and Jade Olmstead lured Stevens to their home near Cochranton, where they beat and waterboarded Stevens, and rolled her into a shallow grave, where she suffocated.
