YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Carl Pelini is on the verge of coming back to Youngstown State as defensive coordinator.

FootballScoop.com reports Pelini is leaving Bowling Green and returning to his brother's, Bo Pelini, staff.

Carl served as the Penguin's defensive coordinator under Bo before leaving for the Falcons.

YSU Athletic Director Ron Strollo would "not confirm or deny the report." 

The FootballScoop.com report also says Carl is the coach in waiting.

YSU has never had a "coach in waiting" scenario.
