GROVE CITY, Pa. - A couple of two-alarm house fires sent people fleeing from their Grove City homes into frigid weather on Monday and Tuesday.
Shortly before 5 pm Tuesday, flames spread from the back of a State Street home to the roof of the two-story brick structure.
A second alarm was called in and firefighters from other departments arrived to help out.
Grove City firefighters were sent out again at around 3:30 am Tuesday after a caller told dispatchers that flames may have erupted from an electrical socket in the attic of the two-story home on the 500 block of Liberty Street.
Firefighters from Grove City and other fire departments were called out after those first on the scene of what was described as a working structure fire.
About fifteen minutes later firefighters called in a second alarm for more help.
Crews managed to contain the fire after battling flames for about an hour and were still working two hours later in wind chills of 17 below zero.
The cause of both fires are under investigation. There have been no reports of injuries.
