CLEVELAND (AP) - Authorities say a suburban Cleveland police officer heralded for the number of drunken driving arrests he's made faces criminal charges for lying about an arrest captured on a cellphone.

Cleveland.com reports 42-year-old North Royalton officer Steven Zahursky was indicted Friday in Cleveland on perjury, tampering with evidence and falsification charges for a drunken-driving arrest last April.

Online court records don't indicate whether Zahursky has an attorney.

Parma Municipal Judge Timothy Gilligan in October dismissed drunken driving, resisting arrest and other charges against 22-year-old Austin Smith-Skinner, writing that Zahursky's arrest report "stood in shocking and chilling contrast" to Smith-Skinner's cellphone video.

Gilligan asked Zahursky at a pretrial hearing to say "stop" whenever he saw Smith-Skinner sway or appear intoxicated in the video. The judge wrote that Zahursky remained silent throughout.
