Rip's Cafe in Struthers to officially reopen Thursday
A popular restaurant in Struthers that closed last year is now reopening under new management.

STRUTHERS, Ohio - A popular restaurant in Struthers that closed last year is now reopening under new management.
Tuesday night was the soft opening for Rip's Cafe at 614 Youngstown-Poland Road for family and friends.
Rip's Cafe, or "Rip's Restaurant" as it was originally called, opened in 1933 and was named after the owner, George "Rip" Repasky.
After Repasky's death, the restaurant stayed in the family, the owners eventually retiring from the business.
However, the new owners of Rip's said they were allowed to keep the name of the restaurant, and they're excited about the grand reopening on Thursday.
Co-Owner Bob Deagan, who lives down the street from the establishment, said it's his first time being in the bar business, but he and his business partner are ready for the challenge.
"We made it ours for the most part. We have pictures on the wall to reflect, you know, the history of the bar and now we're doing our thing," said Deagan.
The big question that Deagan has been getting is if he is keeping the famous "Hunky Platter" will stay on the menu.
The platter consists of stuffed cabbage, perogies, and haluski.
Deagan said the restaurant's signature dish will be served every Thursday.
The hours for Rip's Cafe will be Monday through Saturday, 11 am to midnight. It is open from 11 am to 10 pm on Sunday.
