SMITH TOWNSHIP, Mahoning Co., Ohio - The driver of a Pontiac Trans Am  involved in a five-vehicle crash that shut down Route 62 between Alliance and Sebring on Thursday has now been charged.

Anthony Summers, 22, of Alliance, was cited for improper passing and was taken to Mercy Medical Center in Canton with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

The Highway Patrol says the Pontiac Summers was driving clipped an oncoming pickup truck while it was passing another pickup at around 7:30 am. The Pontiac then spun around, striking two other vehicles.

Debris from one of the vehicles hit a fifth car that was travelling a short distance behind the crash.

Route 62, which was closed between Homeworth and Bandy Roads during the investigation, has since reopened.
