YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The Youngstown City School District's new CEO signed his contract this week and is scheduled to start on August 1.
Justin Jennings was selected by the YCSD Academic Distress Commission to replace current CEO Krish Mohip after a national search.
Mohip's contract expires on July 31, he didn't seek a new contract from the district.
"I'm happy to have the contract worked out and I'm looking forward to starting to work for the scholars of Youngstown," Jennings said.
Jenning's contract runs for three years and expires on July 31, 2022. His annual salary will be $190,000, with performance bonus compensation of up to $10,000 per academic year based on district progress.
There is an option in Jenning's contract to reopen salary negotiations for the third year, with the possibility of extending it on or after January 1, 2021.
Jennings previously served as superintendent of the Muskegon Public Schools in Muskegon, Michigan.
