YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A Youngstown teen made his first appearance in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court to answer allegations that he murdered a 15-year-old boy from Farrell as he was trying to sell iPhone.
Seventeen-year-old Antonio Davis was arraigned Monday on charges of aggravated murder, murder and two counts of aggravated robbery.
A grand jury decided there is enough evidence to put Davis on trial as an adult, even though he was only 16 years old when he allegedly fatally shot Damon Marinoff of Farrell. Davis is now 17 years old.
Police say Marinoff and a 19-year-old companion from Sharon went to a home on the 700 block of Sherwood Avenue in Youngstown in March of last year to sell iPhones to someone they met on the internet.
Once there, investigators say two people stepped off the front porch of the home and robbed both victims.
Marinoff, who was shot during the confrontation, was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital where he died.
The home where the cell phone transaction was supposed to take place turned out to be vacant.
There is no word if the second suspect has been identified.
