Improvements underway at Waddell Park in Niles

NILES, Ohio - Kids can enjoy a new playground in Trumbull County just as summer begins.
Improvements are underway at Waddell Park in Niles. The new playground equipment includes two pieces of adaptive equipment for children with special needs.
New certified fall zone mulch was added to make the play area safe.
The city's mayor says the pavilions and cabins will get makeovers. New signage and landscaping will also be installed.
In order to create a new dog park, the city combined two unused little league fields. Fences section off the dog park in half, with one side for small dogs and the other side designated for large dogs.
A 65,000 grant is paying for the project that should be done in July.
The city will also install security cameras at the park.
