The dry air mass that parked over the area at the end of the week will be replaced by a much more moisture-laden air mass during Father's Day weekend. Meanwhile, a cool front will stall over the Great Lakes. The result will be round of showers and thunderstorms Saturday night through Sunday night and Monday. Some of the pockets of rain can be on the heavy side; with the ground already nearly saturated, flooding will be a concern. This will be especially true in areas of poor drainage and near rivers and streams.
After an unsettled day Monday, we expect less numerous showers and storms Tuesday into Wednesday. Another round of wet weather will be a possibility on Thursday.
