YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Youngstown State University has partnered with a national academic management organization to improve its online schooling.

According to the release, YSU has made an agreement with Academic Partnerships, a company based in Texas that markets and provides technical support to universities in the U.S. and abroad.

YSU currently has 330 students enrolled in 13 online undergraduate, graduate, and certification programs.

YSU will involve Academic Partnerships in its RN-to-BSN nursing program beginning this fall and an online masters in business administration program that will be relaunching in spring 2020.

The release said that YSU is adding seven new online masters programs in education beginning in the fall.

The university is also expanding its enrollment opportunities by letting students enroll at six different times throughout the year. Two enrollment opportunities will be available in each semester (spring, summer, fall).

According to the release, online enrollment increased by 56 percent nationally between 2010 and 2016.

On campus, enrollment dropped by eight percent during that period.

"We are committed to creating new opportunities for learning, and that's what this partnership is all about," Pintar said. "The marketing that AP is going to provide for our online programs is beyond anything that we as a university could ever afford," she added. "This allows us to spread the word outside the region about YSU's excellent academic programs and our track record of student success."
