Route 7 remains closed south of Wellsville
TORONTO, Ohio - State Route 7 remains closed in both directions about nine miles south of Wellsville because of a landslide.
The Ohio Department of Transportation annouced on Thursday that Route 7 will remain closed between Empire and Toronto because of an active landslide.
The landslide began early Thursday morning causing the closure of the north and southbound lanes.
ODOT says the road will remain closed until the hillside is secure and traffic can safely be restored.
An estimated time of reopening is unknown at this time. ODOT says that information will be released as it becomes available.
The suggested detour is U.S. Route 22 west to State Route 43, State Rotue 43 north to State Route 152, State Route 152 east back to Route 7 and reverse.
