Mahoning County turnpike plaza evacuated Thursday evening
The plaza was able to reopen later in the evening.
NEW SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - A turnpike plaza building in Mahoning County was evacuated Thursday evening.
The incident happened around 4:30 p.m. at the Glacier Hills Service Plaza near milepost 237.2.
According to turnpike dispatchers, no one was allowed in the building at the time.
Dispatchers told 21 News that the suspected cause for the evacuation was a potential gas leak.
The plaza was able to reopen later in the evening.
