Many people in the Valley and around the country will light up the sky with fireworks through the weekend.

Wholesale Fireworks was busy with customers Wednesday afternoon ready celebrate the 4th of July with the fireworks they were buying.

"The big stuff is the best seller," stated Vice President Richard Naples Jr.

Fireworks laws from state to state vary.

According to the American Pyrotechnics Association, Ohio is one of only 3 states that allow only wire or wood stick sparklers and other novelty items.

According to Ohio Revised Code, a resident over the age of 18 can purchase fireworks from a licensed dealer in Ohio but they but they are prohibited from setting them off in Ohio unless he or she is a licensed dealer.

But, an Ohio bill passed in the House and awaiting a Senate vote could change this.

It's something Naples said is long overdue.

"I think it should have been in affect a long time ago," said Naples.

"The fact that you are not allowed to light them off but you can light them off is ridiculous."

In Pennsylvania, consumers can purchase and use consumer grade fireworks permitted by federal regulations.
