On the heels of 4th of July, a Gallup survey shows American pride is dwindling, and it has been throughout the 21st Century.
Forty-five percent of people reported feeling "extremely proud" of America in the survey.
That's down from 47 percent last year.
21 News spoke with people out in Downtown Youngstown Friday night and asked them how they felt about American Pride.
"I love American Pride because I was born and raised here," said Hank Willard of Struthers. "You know what I'm saying? I don't have to worry about trying to get a green card or coming across the border. You know it's a tough call as far as who we let in. That's a big mess down there too."
'We love our blessings; we love America. Just support America. Love everybody and don't hate," said Dana Pusic of Youngstown.
Back in 2001 just before the September 11 attacks, Gallup reported 87 percent of Americans felt proud.
