Firefighters from Geauga and Trumbull counties helped put out a fire that forced the evacuation of a manufacturing plant in Middlefield.

A fire broke out just after 6 a.m. Tuesday at the Dillen-HC Companies' plant on Madison Road, just south of Route 87.

The first crew on the scene reported a working fire inside the building.

According to the release, a small fire ignited on one of the machines in the facility.

Firefighters reported a lot of smoke from the fire. Fans were brought in to ventilate the building.

No injuries were reported according to the release.

HC makes horticultural containers such as those used to hold plants.

The facility will be cleared to continue regular business once the areas are cleaned.

HC says that the fire caused little or no impact to customer orders or deliveries.
