GREENVILLE, Pa. - Greenville police helped rescue four people, including young children, from the Shenango River Tuesday afternoon.
Police said crews had to pull two children and two adults from the river after a boating accident caused them to become stranded.
Fire officials said one raft popped and the adults tried putting the children on the other raft, but then became stuck in some tree limbs.
They said a father and son were walking on the nature trail when they saw the group in distress and called for help.
All four people are safe, but were not wearing life jackets.
Greenville Firefighters IAFF Local 1976 and Transfer Fire Department assisted in the rescue.
