After concerns from residents, FEMA wants to make people aware of potential scammers.
A FEMA spokesperson says to be aware of people posing as contractors or people requesting money upfront to speed up the FEMA process.
The organization says that if you encounter a FEMA official to ask for their photo ID.
If you receive a call or email, do not give out personal information.
There is a Disaster Recovery Center set up at the Boardman Administration building for people seeking low-interest loans.
Any residents that believe they have been the victim of fraud can call the National Center for Disaster Fraud Hotline at 1-866-720-5721.
