A Pulaski Township officer rescued an injured red-tailed hawk Saturday afternoon.

The police department took to Facebook to share the news that officer Scott Hedland rescued the bird.

He was on patrol and was notified of the hawk on Valley View Road with a broken leg.

Officer Hedland secured the hawk and then called wildlife officials who sent a representative from Wildlife In Need in Meadville to pick it up.

The department says once rehabilitated, they will release it in the area the hawk was found.
