Suspect indicted for attempted murder on Youngstown's west side

A suspect in a shooting on Youngstown's west side was indicted by a grand jury Thursday.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A suspect in a shooting on Youngstown's west side was indicted by a grand jury Thursday.

Matt Reid, 34, is facing charges including attempted murder, felonious assault and having weapons while under disability.

Reid is accused of shooting 58-year-old James Thorpe while in his Steel Street home on June 12.

Thorpe was found on his living room couch and was taken to Mercy Hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound.

He underwent surgery but is recovering.

Reid is still behind bars on a $100,000 bond.
