WEATHERSFIELD TWP., Ohio - Weathersfield Fire Chief Kenneth Boring is stepping down from his position as chief.
According to a letter from Weathersfield Township Administrator Dr. David Rouan, Boring has decided that he will no longer respond to fire calls.
While Boring is stepping down from his position as chief, he will still conduct fire inspections and continue to help with other activities within the department and township.
The process to select a new chief is already underway with the three station captains being considered.
Rouan's letter states that each captain has until next Wednesday to submit their applications with interviews beginning shortly after.
A new fire chief is expected to be announced at September's regular trustee meeting.
