A Youngstown group held a prayer vigil at the Mahoning County Courthouse this afternoon for those lives lost during the mass shootings in Dayton and El Paso.

They also recognized those injured in the Philadelphia shooting.

A community group called ACTION organized the event.

Executive Director Rosetta Carter says even though these shootings were not local, this still affects all of us. She's calling on legislators to make a change.

"We need to start with our politicians and ask them to make a difference and stand together. It does not matter if it's Republican, Democratic or Independent. Let's stand together and take our nation back," said Carter.

Carter hopes Action and other organizations in the area can come together to work on these issues. You can visit their website for more information.
