Power restored to 1,400 in Canfield, Ellsworth

Power is back on for hundreds of homes and businesses that lost electricity in Canfield and Ellsworth Township early Thursday.

CANFIELD, Ohio - Power is back on for hundreds of homes and businesses that lost electricity in Canfield and Ellsworth Township early Thursday.

According to FirstEnergy, more than 1,400 customers lost power shortly after 8 a.m.

The outage was centered in a neighborhood just north of the Canfield Fairgrounds, where the Cardinal Joint Fire District is investigating a report that a transformer blew up along Indian Lake Blvd.

Power was restored befoe 11 a.m.

FirstEnergy estimates that power will be restored by 11 am.
