Police have charged a Warren woman who is accused of lighting a firework that burned a four-year-old boy.

Brae Hudson, 24 was scheduled for arraignment Thursday morning on a charge of child endangering.

Officers were called to a home on Belvedere Avenue SE Wednesday afternoon when neighbors reported a loud screaming after hearing a loud noise and seeing a puff of smoke.

Police were met by Hudson who asked officers why they were there.

When police told her, Hudson admitted setting off a firework in the roadway, which Hudson said shot sideways, striking a child, according to the police report.

Officers called an ambulance after seeing that the four-year-old boy had what appeared to be a three-inch, second-degree burn on his arm.

After being checked out by an EMT, the boy's mother took him to a hospital.
