Little Free Library installed in Youngstown

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A Little Free Library was installed in Youngstown on Monday afternoon.
That library is located at the Boys & Girls Club on Oak Hill Avenue.
It was installed through the efforts of the Rotary Club of Youngstown and the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County.
"When the editors at Reader's Digest made a list of "50 Surprising Reason Why We Love America," at No. 11 was Little Free Library. The Rotary Club of Youngstown has been mounting wooden boxes on posts and filling them with books since 2014. It is a made-in-America cottage industry built on the premise of "take a book, share a book." The Youngstown club took on the project intending to create neighborhood gathering places to foster relationships and support literacy," said Elayne Bozick, chair of the Little Free Library project for the Rotary Club of Youngstown.
The installation coincides with the celebration of The Big Read, part of the National Endowment for the Arts.
On Tuesday, the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County is hosting author Luis Alberto Urrea.
He will be at the main library at 5:00 p.m. reading from and answering questions about his book, "Into the Beautiful North" before a meet and greet, book signing, and reception.
