WASHINGTON - A minor earthquake has been reported in southwestern Pennsylvania.

According to the U.S. Geological Service preliminary report, the 2.2 magnitude tremor occurred just before 2 a.m. Tuesday near the community of Green Hills, Pennsylvania, which is about six miles southwest of Washington, Pa., and about 26 miles southwest of Pittsburgh.

According to the USGS earthquakes with magnitudes between 1 and 3 are not felt, except by very few people under especially favorable conditions.

Police in Washington, Pa., told 21 News they received no reports from anyone who felt the tremor.
