West Branch puts earned income tax levy on November ballot

BELOIT, Ohio - The West Branch Local School District has put an earned income tax levy on the November ballot.
The .5 percent earned income tax levy is to offset operation deficits. The three-year levy would generate $850,000 annually for the district and would go into effect on January 1, 2020.
According to the district, the levy would allow West Branch to meet operational costs dealing with things such as staffing needs, safety upgrades, bus purchases and funds to keep the same academic programs and extracurricular activities.
West Branch is forecasted to operate in a deficit this fiscal year and every year after.
The table below shows how much the earned income tax levy would cost residents.
