Warren police find child in urine-soaked clothes during drug arrest
A couple is facing charges after police say they found the couple's three-year-old child in urine-soaked pants in the car where drugs were discovered.
Ivan Drazenovic, 26, of Youngstown is facing charges of child endangering.
Ashley Whittaker, 25, also of Youngstown, is facing charges of child endangering and drug paraphernalia.
According to the police report, officers were called around 5:40 a.m. Saturday to Elm Road and Scott Street for a report of a suspicious vehicle.
Police say Drazenovic was waiting in the car for Whittaker while she went to meet her friend known as "B.
Drazenovic identified the child as belonging to him and Whittaker.
A search was conducted on the vehicle where police found crack cocaine under the passenger seat.
A woman later identified as Whittaker was stopped by police on the sidewalk and searched due to the drugs found in the vehicle.
Police found two crack pipes in her pockets.
The couple was arrested and booked into the Trumbull County Jail.
The child was found to have urine-soaked pants.
Children Services was contacted, and the agency informed police Whittaker recently had a case closed in Youngstown involving the child, and the child's grandmother has custody.
The child was released to Drazenovic's mother.
