Warren company gets exclusive apparel contract with Cleveland Indians

WARREN, Ohio - U.S. SafetyGear, Inc. in Warren, which supplies occupational safety products, has been in business for 30 years. They have some big clients.
The Cleveland Indians have been a client for the past 10-15 years, but that partnership is now expanding.
The company signed a three-year deal to provide the game day apparel for the staff at Progressive Field.
"It's huge because the fact is we're able to brand U.S. SafetyGear Inc.'s name with the Cleveland Indians which is an iconic name and obviously when a major league baseball team like the Indians or basketball team such as the Cavaliers chooses your company to produce their product for them, that speaks volumes of our people here and the quality and workmanship that they put out," said Tarry Alberini, the CEO of U.S. SafetyGear Inc. CEO.
"It's huge," said Tamara Timmons, VP of Sales and Marketing. "To be part of the foundation of Ohio by being part of the Cleveland Indians is pretty fabulous."
Tarry Alberini, CEO of U.S. SafetyGear Inc., says the apparel side of the company is the fastest-growing portion of the business.
"We do it all. We're a one-stop-shop. Everything is done here internally. The graphics are produced here, the garments are run here on both the silk screening side and embroidery side, so we're kind of unique in that aspect of it where a lot of companies aren't a one-stop-shop," said Alberini.
Indians employees will be able to order jackets, shirts, shorts, pants, whatever they want with the amount of money that is allocated to them by the team. They will also have their web portal from which to order from.
"They can simply go order what they want when they want. They can buy it all at one time or throughout the year. It's been a big deal, this web portal. We are working with a lot of customers who are out of state now, and they ask do we have a web portal. We are able to say yes, and we can specialize it specific for our customers, and they can see products specifically for them," said Timmons.
This deal will give U.S. SafetyGear Inc. a lot of national exposure and allow them to continue the process of trying to grow and expand the business.
"I see the existing expansion of this facility back as far as apparel goes in the near future. Expanding more services and capabilities to our customers. Right now, this area right here is pretty much full of machinery and equipment and things, so we'll eventually have to expand southward in our building here, so we're pretty excited about that, but that has been the goal all along. The Cleveland Indians contract just helps us with notoriety in the consumer public," said Alberini.
A grand slam for this small business in Warren.
