MECCA TWP., Ohio - A 27-year-old woman spent a terrifying 45 minutes hiding in the closet of a Mecca Township home talking to a police dispatcher after she reported that her mother had been shot.

The woman called 911 just after 8:30 p.m. Sunday to report that her mother, 47-year-old Jill Pollnow, had been shot by Pollnow's boyfriend, 64-year-old Vincent “Tommy” Coburn Jr. at the home the two shared at 6067 Hoagland Blackstub Road.

The daughter told a dispatcher that Coburn broke down a bedroom door and shot Pollnow, telling the daughter he wasn't going to hurt her.

The 911 caller remained hidden in a closet, telling a dispatcher that she heard two more gunshots less than a half-hour after her mother had been shot.

State troopers, deputies and local police had surrounded the property which is bordered by privacy fences on either side.

About fifteen minutes after hearing the gunshots the daughter told dispatchers she had heard nothing since. Authorities then forced their way into the home where they found Coburn dead from a gunshot wound to the head. They found the body of Jill Pollnow in a bedroom. Her daughter was unharmed.

The coroner and agents from the Ohio Bureau of Investigation are gathering evidence.

Investigators say they expect to have more information during a news conference later Monday.

According to court records, Coburn was sentenced to six years in prison in 2009 following a conviction on charges of felonious assault.
